As someone that runs 5 accounts, and always had several accounts even on vanilla when it costed money, I don't really like it. In eve, I could pilot one account and make tons of money and resources and get virtually any ships/builds i wanted, just by investing a reasonable amount of time.
Honestly, I think one of the biggest issues is that a single robot doesn't have enough sustain to take any amount of dps that npc spawns through at it. Between ECM, damage, and needing firepower, it is impossible to fit a solo bot to tank any spawns like you can in eve.
This has a few solutions:
Lower the ecm/#of weapons current npc spawns have so they do less damage.
Increase the damage that weapons do to npcs. Heck, equip all npcs with a lightweight frame so they have less ehp. Make a new mod that lowers resistances and throw that on npcs (not sure the logistics behind doing this, but from what i understand something like this can be done).
Increase the repair amount or lower the accumulator usage of local armor repairs. This way you can fit a bot with 2-3 medium armor reps and actually tank a spawn of 4 mechs solo. If this would mess with PVP too much, make armor tunnings give a much bigger bonus so those work instead.
on this note here, for something like armor repairs, the improvement from t1 to t4 should be bumped up a lot more than it is. This way if people DO fit out t4 armor repairs, at least they risk losing something valuable for the benefit.
I know all these solutions have positives and negatives, but npc farming SHOULD be at a point where you can do it solo and safely if your getting into a fully fit t4 mech. The ability to do this and generate money and resources is good for the economy. People getting nic shouldn't just be limited to those who do harvesting missions.
To put it in perspective, I can do taps on 5 accounts and in an hour i get about 8million from plasma. Of course, I get a lot of other resources as well, but if I do missions on ONE account i get around 10 million nic/hr. Make NPC farming great again!
